{Summer Road Trip} Day Four

This morning (at 11am) we walked to the visitor's center and hopped on the shuttle and went all the way to the Temple of Sinawava to walk on the Riverwalk Trail to the Narrows. What we did not plan on was the fact that Lauren would want to do almost the whole walk all by herself! This is the best part of staying right in the park. Having the ability to just come and go without worrying about parking and what not. You are just there. I love it.

All "tall" trail side rocks must be climbed and "Lion Kinged" which meant Lauren would get right out on the furthest, tallest point and roar. Then we could continue.

Because of the rains, and flash floods, no one was in the Virgin River hiking the Narrows when we were there.

Lauren about to do "Lion King" again...

We stopped along the Riverside Trail to play in a little shaded sandy area right along the Virgin River.

More "Lion King-ing"

We rode the shuttle bus back to the Lodge because we were hungry...and realized it was cheaper (and nicer) to eat in the main dining room instead of at the cafe, so that is just what we did.

They made Lauren a nice grilled chicken breast and applesauce. The rest of us had the buffet.

As soon as we got back, I told my dad that he had to check out the Riverside Trail before we left Zion and that he was missing out if he didn't, so we drove down to the Visitor's Center and parked the truck there and then rode the shuttle all the way in and did the walk. I saw so much more this time around...but first, I was able to get some nice pictures of Angel's Landing that we hiked earlier in the day from the shuttle!

There was a natural spring bubbling out of this tree.

I never thought to stop and touch the stone, or feel the water temperature dripping out from the rocks, but he did!

He showed me how to get cool water to put on you to cool down. I never would have thought of that, but he did!

He stopped to see what the dust covered bronze marker said...

As we were returning to the Visitor Center The Watchman was looking so mighty in the sunset!

We were camped right under it!

As we were cleaning up to move on in the morning, my mom was trying to figure out how to make the flashlight work...and in doing so, she turned it on right in her eyes...and the laughing started...
