{The Griffins Are Here} Day Three

Please excuse this post. I deleted it by accident and is currently getting reformatted.

There were these beautiful peacocks all over the Zoo, just wandering around!

Our first stop was the Monkey Trail.

Within the monkey area were some pigmee rhinos that lived with the monkeys. Lauren like the "ish" or "shes" the best (fish or fishies)

Our next stop was at the Play Date (aka special treat feeding) with the Gorillas.

Lauren had a great view right up near the windows!

There was a Zoo Keeper up on the roof throwing lettuce and tomatoes down to them!

When all of a sudden, the little gorilla got greedy and went over to take the Big Kahuna's pile. The Big Kahuna chased after the little gorilla and got the lettuce back! It was quite the scene!

Mila and Karlee and Aaden and Allison watched from the back on top of a bench.

The next area had these adorable orangutangs. One of them carried a burlap blankie every where!

After the Monkey Trail, we headed over to have some lunch. Lauren chased ducks while we all took turns going to the restroom and doing diaper changes.
Next we did a loop with Giraffes, Rhinos, Kangaroos, Birds, etc.

There was a VERY noisy kookaburra bird. Lauren plugged her ears. Aaden thought the bird was funny!

Once we completed that loop, Darrel, Karlee and Mila headed home for a nap, while the rest of us continued on a giant loop around the Zoo. Before they went, we got a group picture of the Mommies and Babies! From the left, Allison & Aaden, Robyn & Ivy, Me & Lauren, and Karlee & Mila.

We stopped for a good 20-30 minutes at the Elephant Care Facility. They were giving an elephant a pedicure. It was so interesting to watch and the trainers were out answering questions.

After the elephants, we stopped in the Lion Area. Nice sign, huh?

Right around this point in the afternoon, Lauren and Ivy both fell asleep in their strollers. It was still cold and windy and we caught the occasional rain drop too!

While the girls were sleeping, we passed through the Polar Bear exhibit and the Panda Bear Exhibits.

The Lauren woke up, but I do not think she was ready to wake up yet, so she was a bit grumpy.

Aaden never did take a nap at the Zoo.

Lauren still struggling to wake up.

We visited the Children's Zoo, but it was closed because of the weather, so the kids played on a little playground for a few minutes and then we headed out, but first, we stopped to take pictures at the sign.

Everyone came back to our house for playtime, pizza & salad, beer & wine (and chicken nuggets for the littles).

We had a full house, but everyone had fun. Karlee played peek-a-boo with all the littles behind the couch.

After dinner, there was a wild and crazy dance party and then we sang Happy Birthday to Robyn and served one of her favorites, cheesecake, for dessert.

Then it was time for everyone to say goodnight and head back home.

It was seriously such a fun day! The Griffins are heading home in the morning. We are going to miss them.
