{Canadian Cruise Vacation} Day Four

I woke up to calm seas this morning. Lauren slept great last night. I turned on the TV to see what our cruising stats were. We were just turning the corner at Washington and heading through the Straight of Juan de Fuca.


I was determined to eat at least one breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Main Dining Room, and since this was our last morning, we hurried to get to breakfast before 9:30am. Below are pictures of the sweet man that made Lauren the origami frog two nights ago.


Lauren had some fresh squeezed orange juice and fed herself Cheerios from the box with a fork.


Her bananas came in a silver pedestal.


She had a breakfast of sausage and hashbrowns, and of course, fruit.

I had an American Breakfast of eggs, sausage, waffles and potatoes.

Justin had blueberry pancakes, sausage, bacon and hashbrowns.

As we were going back to our room, I realized I never took a picture of this beautiful chandelier. It is Waterford Crystal.

Walking back to our room to put on some warm clothes and go for one last walk around the 3rd floor deck.


This was our sweet room steward that made the towel animals. His name was Deden and he know all of our names within an hour of meeting us. He would greet us by name if he saw us out and about.

After we were all bundled up, we headed up to the Third Deck to soak up all of the beautiful scenery.

It was much colder than I expected it would be, so we ended up going inside and buying me a hat, scarf and gloves. It was only $20 for the set, so that is not so bad and it sure made the rest of my day more enjoyable!

While we were walking, we saw in to the anchor room.



After our walk, we went back to the room to start packing up. Deden asked us to be out of our room by 2pm, so he could start prepping it for the next person.

After we packed up, we headed down to the Lido for one last meal. Lunch was simple, chicken, hot dogs, french fries.

This sweet man came over and gave us this dessert. He said it was the last one and he thought the baby might like it. We did not give it to her, but we ate it and it was so good. I went inside to get another one and they said "I am sorry ma'dam, the last one was just given to a sweet man that said he wanted to give it to a cute little baby out on the deck".

After lunch, we headed out to the Lido Deck at the back of the ship. The scenery was just breathtaking. These pictures just do not do it justice.



Lauren started getting tired, so we reclined her and covered her up and then pulled up two chairs next to her stroller to just relax.





...and soon, she was out cold. Clifford over her face, fleece hat on, wool blanket covering her.

About two hours later, Lauren woke up extremely crabby. While she was sleeping, I went and got our luggage and brought it up to the deck with us. (I later found out that we could have left it in the room and just been packed and out and they would have cleaned around it. ugh!) We bribed her with a squeezie and she seemed to snap out of it.

Fairly quickly, the big moment arrived and it was time to sail under the famous Lion's Gate Bridge.





Welcome to Vancouver!

There were sea planes landing all over the place.




Our luggage all rigged up. It stayed like that, even without Justin holding it. Talk about perfectly balanced. It was so easy to navigate.

As we pulled in to Canada Place, we realized that our Captain was going to have to parallel park us in front of that Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship.







It took about 45 minutes to get docked and then disembark the vessel. We chose to carry our own bags off, so we were the first group to get off the ship. The customs line was very long, but went fast and smoothly and soon we were on our way to our condo rental.

Goodbye Westerdam! Thank you for all the great memories.

Canada does not require children to be in a safety seat in taxis, so Lauren just rode in between us.

The condo was beautiful, clean and in a great location, Yaletown!


We dropped off our bags, regrouped and then headed out on to the streets of Yaletown to find some dinner.


We were immediately sticker shocked. Our meal of barbeque was $70! And that was the cheapest place we found and it did not even taste good. We then continued on to the "cheap" grocery store where we bought 6 slices of turkey lunch meat, 4 bananas, and a cucumber for $13. We were feeling quite discouraged about how expensive everything was, but the beautiful sunset from our balcony made up for it.
